European Volunteer Service
European Voluntary Service (EVS) is just one of the opportunities available to young people under the European Youth programme. An EVS project builds on a transnational partnership between youth organisations and Volunteer, and it supports local community projects, through the work of the volunteer.
The European Commission supports international voluntary service for young people by funding the European Voluntary Service, more commonly known as EVS. It does this because of a belief that the benefits to the young people who participate as volunteers in an International setting are enormous. These benefits are both concrete –such as improving a young person’s language skills - and less tangible, for example developing young persons sense of self worth and self confidence.
