Harpercraft was started in 1977 by Winifred and Ed Harper, as a small business to make and sell enamel jewellery. In 1980, the business moved to its present premises in the courtyard of Cotter's Bar.
Since 1980, it has expanded to become a retail outlet for a range of different crafts, most of which are either produced locally on Cape Clear, or are produced specially for us, such as sweaters, both hand-knit and machine-knit, our own uniquely embroidered sweatshirts, custom printed T-shirts, souvenir plates, wooden plaques decorated using pyrography, hand decorated candles made by Duncan Harper (the youngest member of the family), and many more unique and unusual items.
The original range of jewellery has also expanded, and now includes leather, beads and silver items, as well as a range of enamelling.
Speciality ice-creams and cheese from the herd of Cléire Goats are also available.
